The main benefit is for large solutions comprising hundreds of projects. The advantage is that it has access to more than 4GB memory in the devenv process, this being the shell of the IDE, though of course it is still possible to compile 32-bit applications. Visual Studio itself was introduced in 1997, though it was more of a bundle of different Windows development tools initially. Perhaps inspired by VB, Microsoft delivered Visual C++ 1.0 in 1993, replacing the little-used PWB. The company also came up Visual Basic (VB, first released 1991), which unlike Microsoft C++ had a Windows IDE. In the early days, Windows applications were coded and compiled using MS-DOS, and there was a MS-DOS IDE called Programmer's Workbench (PWB, first released 1989). The Visual Studio idea came from two main sources. Microsoft always had its own programming languages and tools, beginning with Microsoft Basic in 1975 and Microsoft C 1.0 in 1983. Licona replied, “They all followed Greco-Roman biographies. I started reading ancient biographies written around the time of Jesus because the majority of New Testament scholars, thanks to Richard Burridge initially, and also people like Charles Talbert, David Aune, and even more recently Craig Keener shows that uh the majority of New Testament scholars regard the Gospels as ancient biographies, Greco-Roman biographies. Since it bothered so many other Christians to think that there may be contradictions in the Gospels, Licona said, ![]() ![]() How Greco-Roman Genre Allows for Contradictions in Gospels However, Licona realized that “it did bother a lot of Christians.” In fact, he said, “I asked the class how many of this thing about potential contradictions really bothers you, and the majority of the class raised their hands” (emphasis is mine in all these quotations). So, contradictions in the Gospels do not bother Licona because inerrancy “is not one of the fundamental doctrines.” Why? Because, says Licona, they don’t affect any important doctrine like the resurrection of Christ. So um it didn’t really bother me a whole lot even if some contradictions existed. So if Jesus rose from the dead, Christianity is still true even if it turned out that some things in the Bible weren’t. I mean, I believe in biblical inerrancy but I also realized that biblical inerrancy is not one fundamental doctrines of Christianity. In a professionally transcribed interview by Lenny Esposito of Mike Licona on YouTube on Novemat the 2012 Evangelical Theological Society meeting (see ), Licona affirmed the following: “So um this didn’t really bother me in terms of if there were contradictions in the Gospels. Despite his belief that such scholarly discussions as these should not take place on the internet, Licona recently did a YouTube interview in which he sets forth his “justification” for believing that there can be a contradiction in the Gospels and yet one can claim they are inerrant! Until recently, Licona has not offered a public response to the charge that his reference to John contradicting the synoptic Gospels on the day of Christ’s crucifixion is consistent with the doctrine of inerrancy which he claims to accept. ![]() Indeed, he claims “ Bios offered the ancient biographer great flexibility for rearranging material and inventing speeches…and they often included legends” (ibid., emphasis added). He claims this is a “flexible genre,” and “it is often difficult to determine where history ends and legend begins” ( The Resurrection of Jesus, 34). Holding Greco-Roman Genre Allows for Contradictionsīut how can one hold to inerrancy, as Licona claims to do, and yet affirm that there is a contradiction in the Gospels? According to Licona, the answer is found in embracing the Greco-Roman genre view of the Gospels. But that does not mean that Jesus wasn’t crucified.” In short, John contradicts the other Gospels on which day Jesus was crucified. But is it consistent for an evangelical New Testament scholar like Mike Licona? In a debate with Ehrman at Southern Evangelical Seminary(Spring 2009), Licona said, “I think that John probably altered the day in order for a theological-to make a theological point there. This is not an uncommon claim for a Bible critic and agnostic like Bart Ehrman. The Charge of Contradiction in the GospelsĬritic Bart Ehrman wrote: “Maybe when Mark says that Jesus was crucified the day after the Passover was eaten (Mark 14:12 15:25) and John says he died the day before it was eaten (John 19:14)-maybe that is a genuine difference,” that is, a real contradiction (Ehrman, Misquoting Jesus, 9). But how can one hold to inerrancy, as Mike Licona claims to do, and yet affirm that there is a contradiction in the Gospels? According to Licona, the answer is found in embracing the Greco-Roman genre view of the Gospels. ![]() 3/15/2023 0 Comments Pdf stacks vs paper![]() ![]() for each level from the current page back to the website root, and then the breadcrumb trail down to the directory holding the files.Įxample location of the directory containing the downloadable files: You can search online for more help on using relative paths. This mobile responsive stack is infinitely more powerful than the 'File Sharing' page type that is shipped with RapidWeaver already. If you have lots of file download links, then people can toggle how many to show per-page, they can search for files using the live search box or they can click the table headings to re-sort files. You can control precisely what order files are shown in as the page loads. File names are extrapolated from the original file name and converted into a more 'human readable' format without the ugliness of dashes, underscores, hyphens or extensions. Paperless efficiently solves these common problems, through presentation of files in a logical order, within a tidy, table interface. Sometimes files are not presented in the desired order (like newest first). Ordinarily, organisation of digital files can quickly become a messy process! Changes in files can often result in broken links on a website which might go unnoticed for many weeks. Alternatively, Paperless will happily run from a directory of files you add to the RapidWeaver sidebar as a 'resource'. This means it is perfect to use in conjunction with a CMS, the free Droplet or FileMan stacks, or in instances where a client already has the ability to 'FTP' files into a directory on the hosting server. By using Paperless, you do not need to manually create the links and republish your website each time. Paperless uses server-side PHP code to scan a directory of files and automatically construct a list of available file downloads. ![]() 3/15/2023 0 Comments Storymill review![]() ![]() The first thing you will ask may be what kinds of publication that you should read. Turning the series into a more action adventure like game instead of an RPG. ![]() Color Splash has a paint mechanic that makes simply exploring the world and filling in every white spot with paint satisfying. Paper Mario introduced many gamers into turn based combat and RPG structuring within games, and its' sequel The Thousand Year Door expanded on the gameplay mechanics with the crowd and a more expansive story and world. Each game is different and complex in it's own special way, with every title in the franchise offering a fresh new take that provides players with amazing gaming experiences. I really wanted to like the game as much as other people but as it is, is just a boring game at best.ĩ0% WiiPaper Mario as a character may be known for being flat, but the experiences found within his IP's games are deep enough to rival even the ocean. without any of the interesting main characters, the only ones that are interesting to see are the villains, who don't show up until the last moment every chapter, while the story is entertaining is so poorly paced that it isn't enough to overlook all of the other flaws of this game. Yes, it has the same writing of the old games. And finally, the story it's a good-ish one. As an RPG all those puzzles are really arbitrary, one chapter is just as fun as using your abilities to climb a try, and in the next one is memorizing an extremely large order of blocks to jump under in order to progress and ends up making the pacing very sluggish, leveling up just means having to jump less on an enemy and ends up being redundant when you can just walk through them in 3D, and the items ended up being useless when most of the time taking down an enemy is as easy as jumping on them. The thing is that it doesn't execute them well, at all, as a platformer is very slow, with enemies that just require to jump on them until you're tired and half of the time you're just walking straight until a puzzle shows up. It's a game that tries to be a platformer with RPG elements, with the same good writing of the old games and that's not a bad thing, some variety in this franchise was more than welcome back then. Maybe this style wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but at least Rosalina's story book was a good way to implement it. See, I like Miyamoto and all, but the idea that Mario games shouldn't have stories is something I strongly disagree with. It was oddly emotional for a Paper Mario, or a Mario game in general. And then the love story between Tippy and the Count BLECK, I forget exactly how it went because it wasn't *my* focus, but I do remember them walking away after the credits and my heart fluttering. Well, there's so debris, but the image of this nothing world sticks in my mind. ![]() The fact that you can see what'll happen if you don't do anything, is incredible. The point is, one world you go to *gets destroyed*. There's this plot about how the purple will destroy all worlds, and you go around getting the Pure Hearts and the like saving the worlds, sorta. It's got so much personality, and it makes me squeal. The story is increidible, the gameplaty isn't deep but it's far from annoying. There’s tons of potential within this game and almost none of it is properly capitalized on.ġ00% WiiAaaaa this game was fantastic. In the end this game is the definition of divisive for me. Worst of all, the gameplay is the least interesting part of the package, with every level being a protracted labyrinth filled with dull fetch quests and one-off random jokes that just waste time. ![]() The story is the darkest told in the Mario universe and has perhaps the most initial intrigue, but feels decidedly un-Mario, feeling more like it revolves around the new characters instead, which feels like it defeats the purpose of the series somewhat, and on top of that, it doesn’t have the same lingering intrigue that the lore of TTYD had. The music has some genuinely interesting ideas but often feels too one-note or clichéd for its own good. The art direction has remnants of the great, timeless style of TTYD, but ends up feeling disjointed, vaguely paper-esque, and a mishmash of curvy Mario characters with jagged, blocky sprites devoid of identity. There’s a part of me that would like to give it a 6, and a part that would like to give it a 4. 50% Wii UIt’s hard to explain how torn I am about this game. ![]() |
